Oregon is home to one of the most impressive coastlines in the country. It is a great blend of wide sandy beaches and dramatic and rugged landscape. We stayed at Rockaway Beach and were able to explore the coast from Astoria in the North to Cape Kiwanda in the South, hitting features like Haystack Rock, Twin Rocks, Cannon Beach, and Cape Lookout. We also had a chance to explore the Tillamook Cheese Factory! The miles long Oregon beaches are nothing like those in the Northeast, where each beach is small and self contained. The Oregon coastline is all public land, which makes it accessible to all Americans, which is super cool!
